I had the opportunity to help a friend out and photograph her with her lovely new rescue pup, Ernest Hemingway.
Its pretty obviously they think their made for each other.

Its really REALLY cold out. For Savannah at least. But 37 degrees is cold anywhere, really.
Didn’t stop me from catching a few of the pups running around though!

Had the amazing opportunity to photograph Lauren from
Lauren Nicole Studios and Kevin, along with their wonderful pup “Baylee”!!
This shoot was a blast, lots of laughter, and Baylee provided a constant source of inspiration.
Along with some squirrel stalking, of coarse.

Bringing it back to the 50′s……

Headed out to the Highway 21 Drive-In Movie Theatre in Beufort, SC. Awesome night, Tony, Capa and I had a blast.

Shot a few quick portraits of Capa outside the apartment. The light and recent rain were too good to pass up!

Then Tony stopped by and we headed out to the Drive-In. Good looking country on the drive too!

MAJORLY EPIC UBER PHOTO UPDATE

Okay, Okay – I know. Its been like a whole month since I last updated this thing. There is a little thing called “thesis” that I kinda have to get done. No biggie.

Anyway – Here’s some personal shenanigans from the last month.

Ted and I caught the Appetite for Destruction (G-N-R Tribute Band) Show @ THE JINX , which was awesome.

First, it was pizza (for Ted) @ Sweet Melissa’s on Congress Street:

Then it was time to move on to new ground, as Ted and I have a habit of doing……..

So it was off to The Mercury Lounge, for a coupla Guinness before the “big” show!

First — I few scenes from one of my favorite places in Savannah , The Jinx!

How can you not love this place?

I love photo triptych’s, especially when they are about PBR……

On to the show…. A precurser…. I am OBVIOUSLY not the AMAZING, super talented musical photographic genius as my friend, Lindsay Hutchens.

But I was drinking, so I am calling a mulligan on this one.

All in all, a great night……

Then my little bro Cory comes prancing into town for a wedding, so I meet up with him and his lovely, beguiling fiance Adrienne. We chilled, got some good eats at “Sunny-Side-Up” on DeRenne, and then headed to River Street for some people watching…….

Another triptych

Cory and Adrienne were able to help me chase some pigons around to, in an homage to this guy, a SCAD alumni whose work I totally dig. Trust me, those little birds are tough to catch on film. James is the MAN. Check out his blog and site.

We were in no way responsible for this….. but Cory said if I didnt take a photo, I was a pansy. Sorry little guy. I know KYLE would dig it though…..

Finally, I can’t end without my model du jour (and constant source of stress, I mean excitement) Capa:

She KNOWS! she isn’t supposed to be on the couch. Whats worse than that is that I took the time to take a photo before I shooed her off, and then made sure their was no dog hair everywhere.

Post LA Photo MEGA Update

So I have had a few days since my whirlwind drive across the country back to Savannah. I finally logged the photos I had taken before I left into Lightroom, and have edited a little bit of the last weeks of my time in LA.

We went bowling…….. which was dark and required me to think to much about exposure, so I put the camera away and proceeded to complete “the under the leg while holding a beer in the left hand STRIKE” that I have now become known for….

After bowling, Nick, Mike, Andy and I continued with a guys night. This consisted of heading to “Champs” and much competitiveness…….

Mike, Andy and I finished our night at what will become one of my most missed activities of the West Coast…… “IN-N-OUT BURGER”!!!!!!!!!

I’ll Miss This!

On my way back, I met Alan & Mo in Del Rio, TX which is one of the scariest places to access EVER. Way to remote for this guy. Plus its in TX, which places it super low anyway.

Of coarse, Capa was down for some photo action when I got back…….

Overall, I had a blast in LA, and miss my West Coast Peeps a ton! Seriously not missing the traffic though.

Massive Photo Update:

So I know I promised a blog update on some new equipment I have been working with, so here it is. I finally got a camera that I am not constantly wishing I could upgrade. I got my hands on a brand-spanking new Nikon D700
. Its AMAZING. The quality of files coming out of this beast at high isos and in low light it simply mind boggling. I know it doesn’t shoot HD video like the Canon 5D mark II, but hey, when I go video, I’ll see about all of that then.

So I finally got to test out the camera – I went around town with my buddy Mike, attended Chinese New Year in Chinatown with Kelly, and a Superbowl party at Nick’s place.
